Start of the Semester

Hey! I'm Katarina and I'm really excited to be in this class. I consider myself to be a creative person with an interest in digital art which is why I chose animation as my major. I love using tablets to draw digitally and I'm happy that our first class session proved to me that we'll be working with drawing tablets.

I've been using tablets for a few years now. I started out with a Wacom Intuos during my Junior year in high school and upgraded to a Microsoft Surface Pro late last year. It definitely has a bit of a learning curve compared to traditional methods but I'm excited to continue learning more. I'm hoping I'll learn how to create more realistic shading, lighting, and effects over the course of this semester. Preferably, I'd like to learn as much as I can in Adobe Photoshop since it's the software I use for drawing.
With this knowledge I aim to create cinematics, key art, and concept art for entertainment purposes. My dream is to be able to work for and create those types of artworks for Blizzard Entertainment. Hopefully after this semester, I'll have a better idea of how to achieve that dream.
